The Glamourous Life - Beatitude

1-blessed are...

2-a cry of joy!

3-Good news.

A State of Supreme Well-being and Good Spirits

Nietzsche has an quote on the matter of happiness...
Humanity does not strive for happiness; only the English do.

or...Joseph Campbell wrote

"The way to find out about happiness is to keep your mind on those moments when you feel most happy, when you are really happy — not excited, not just thrilled, but deeply happy. This requires a little bit of self-analysis. What is it that makes you happy? Stay with it, no matter what people tell you. This is what is called following your bliss."

American, of Irish descent...!!!

A photo moment for the GRAND OPENING of ART GALLERY of ALBERTA. (this is a filched photo, I have to say, because I forgot my camera, gentle readers, on the table because I was getting a lift and it was more important to have on lipstick and get out the door than pick up the image recording device. Geez huh? a complete lapse in priorities! Not one comment was made on the lipstick. I am sure, certain, in fact, that I could have had one or two(comments) should I have been armed with the camera. Live and Learn....)

The building is a work of art- Randall Stout's and it puts me in mind, she says, reaching for the decorative straw installation that sits in the corner of the salon for this very reason, of my favorite art nouveau architect.. Josep Marie Jujol who worked with and influenced....Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona.

Interestingly enough, one of the main exhibits is Degas!
an installation of an abandoned Japanese dentist's office during a storm. (this is worth a chew on the straw and a raised eyebrow)
Goya's prints-The Disasters of War.

And a Murder of Crows. (Sound moves through)

  1. I do love Gaudi; such beautiful colors! Interesting building and one of these days I shall always be traveling with camera. No lipstick for me.

  2. You are on a roll! I like your take on the daily painting. I am both awed and perplexed by the amount of work that is being produced by the painting a day crowd. I like the notion, but have a hard time working quickly. It is a real discipline and a great way to work thru painting issues and ideas.

(My hair is fine, its the combo of weather, energy, and too much thinking that makes for a 'punky' week!!)

  3. I went to the AGA site. Quite a grand opening show! I didn't see the dentists' office. That intrigues me!

  4. (it was menthol red Burt's bees lipstick... which is no excuse.) The camera is indispensable. If you have a minute check out Jujol. He was a marvelous recycler as well.

Thank you for you time and comments, Sherry! I look forward to them.

  5. Kaylyn! I am so relieved to hear that your hair isn't the punk part of the week. Too much thinking...aaah. I feel for you then sister.

Have you seen a video of Karin Jurick painting or Carol Marine? It is skill in motion. My thinking on it all is...But here is the thing and it is profound.. Every one is different.
(Jeff Haynes also has his solutions.)

Thank you Kaylyn for your thoughtful remarks!
